The pace at which AiBEC continues to evolve is remarkable. We have made significant advances since my newsletter in August. Amongst the most pleasing outcomes has been the launch of our website, which contains extensive information about the Association, including the different Member and Allied Supporter offerings and scheduled events. The next feature to be added to the website will be the listing of Members and Allied Supporters. AiBEC will be using HubSpot to provide the CRM to support and integrate related activities. We continue to be active on LinkedIn with almost 1100 followers, and it is an important source of information on what is happening in and around AiBEC.
As part of our commitment to informing those interested in knowing more about AiBEC, meetings were held in Perth and Adelaide during September, completing five information meetings in all major capital cities. These meetings were very valuable and helped provide feedback that we were able to use and make important changes, such as the introduction of the Allied Supporter. These meetings helped us to crystalise strategies around industry engagement, training and interaction with members and allied supporters. A webinar with an update on developments and pathway for the future was held in mid-September.
Recently, we entered an agreement with Pointsbuild to be our Technical Training Partner. This arrangement will give members and allied supporters access to a range of short, relevant, and inexpensive training courses. We are also looking to work alongside ATTAR, a Corporate Founding Member, to provide a comprehensive course on The Art & Science of Technical Writing. Details are being finalised, and an announcement will be made in the near future.
We conducted our first training webinar presented by Alexandra Hordern, ICA General Manager – Regulatory and Consumer Policy with 70 attendees participating in the event on the topic Expert Report: Industry Best Standard. We thank Alexandra for her time, and we plan to continue dialogue with ICA via feedback through our Technical Committee, which has been established to make recommendations on Expert Reports. We also have planned webinars with Paul Muir, Managing Director of Compliance Advocacy Solutions; Lisa Carter, Managing Director of Clear Insurance; Jarod Orth, Senior Manager and Chris Jelly, Senior Code Compliance Analyst, General Insurance Code Governance Committee. For the topics of the presentations and how to register for these and other events, please visit www.aibec.co. Thank you to all presenters for committing to these webinars. We will be scheduling more training in 2025 and invite feedback on topics to be covered. Also, our first and second group of enrolments of AiBEC members in the ANZIIF Caring for the Vulnerable Customer have been completed, demonstrating our commitment to improving members’ skills and understanding in this important area.
The AiBEC Launch Cocktail Function will be held in Sydney on Thursday, 31 October, and we hope to see many members, allied supporters, and friends at this historic event. I also ask that you mark in your diary 23 July 2025, the date for the AiBEC Conference in Sydney at the Amora Hotel. Planning for the conference has already started, and I invite suggestions for topics and speakers. As we continue this journey together, I ask that you encourage colleagues and friends to join the AiBEC community as members or allied supporters. Through the strength of numbers, we will be able to be a force for change and improvement in the delivery of better claims outcomes for all parties.
