I am pleased to give you an update on developments around AiBEC. Since my last newsletter there has been a constant flow of activities which I will outline below. I am pleased to consistently receive positive feedback and encouragement from members, allied supporters, industry associations, government agencies and others. The formation of AiBEC has come at the right time for the insurance industry as all sections collectively look to improve claims practices.
I would like to say thank you to the growing number of Individual Founding Members, in years to come your early show of confidence in joining AiBEC will place you in good company.
Recently ATTAR joined as a Corporate Founding Member, they very much share our vision for improved standards in expert reporting in insurance claims. ATTAR will also bring a high level of expertise to our Technical Committees, which I will talk about later. I also acknowledge our two Corporate Members, Restoration Industry Consultants and Structability and thank them for their commitment.
Congratulations to the following Allied Supporters as we see them as having an important role in the development of the Association:
- IAG
- MARSH
- Riverwall Construction
- EZY Projects
- Steamatic
- Procare Claims and Risks
- National Leak Detection
- Abril Construction
There has been strong support from a number of major insurers and other organisations and we will have more information on these groups as they join the AiBEC community as Corporate Members or Allied Supporters.
Numerous meetings have been held in past few weeks including with Andrew Hall CEO Insurance Council of Australia who praised the objectives and early work of AiBEC. Andrew said AiBEC will drive positive outcomes and recognise high standards of practice. The ICAhas released a paper Expert Report Best Practice Standard and thanked AiBEC for consultation on the paper. We will through a AiBEC Technical Committee make on-going recommendations to ICA regarding this important area. We plan in the near future to liaise with members to establish Technical Committees and with Allied Supporters to establish AlliedSupporter Advisory Committees (ASAC). These committees and other matters will be discussed at a webinar on Monday, 23 September. Also we are planning a AiBEC cocktail function for Sydney on Thursday, 31 October with more details on these two events to be released soon.
Other important meetings have been held in respect of developing training options for members and others. I will be able to share more about these offerings in the near future.
In September Deniz Bekir and I will be holding Information Meetings in Perth (11 Sept) and Adelaide (12 Sept) and we look forward to presenting to members and allied supporters and others interested to learn about AiBEC. We will also be outlining a new category Individual Allied Supporter that will be available to individuals who do not qualify for membership but who hold professional or trade qualifications and whose employer organisation is an AiBEC Allied Supporter.
We have achieved a strong interest on LinkedIn with almost 1000 followers. Particularly it is great to see the Individuals, Corporate Members and Allied Supporters posting on LinkedIn and showing their enthusiasm for involvement in AiBEC. This platform is an excellent way to keep up to date with AiBEC activities.
In other news a comprehensive AiBEC website is being developed and will be launched in coming weeks. For those individuals and organisations on the side-lines watching and observing AiBEC I encourage you to get involved as a member or allied supporter and become part of our community and help lift the standard and quality in reporting on insurance claims.
