Questions on Wear and Tear, Deterioration and Maintenance including assertions of insurers not paying claims on the basis of these definitions were made.
Complaints regarding misinterpretation and misrepresentation of these terms by insurance companies and in usage of Experts reports biasing coverage and claims decision outcomes is a significant and common issue raised within submissions to the federal government’s parliamentary inquiry into the 2022 floods.
In 2026, as a professional industry based Association consider education the key to positively driving betterment in customer experience and expectations from experts and service providers utilised within the claims handling process for the benefit of all stakeholders.
AiBEC aims and objectives are to better and uplift the claims handling process for all stakeholders with respect to expert reporting services training, quality and transparency.
